This year for New Year’s Eve, River of Life is planning something a little different than the typical watch night service. Instead of everyone coming to the church, we are asking individuals within the congregation to host “watch night parties” at different homes around the area. The order of the evening is simple: relax, talk, have fun – then top the night off with a simple time of prayer and sharing with one another.
Why are we doing this? We are doing this because it is time for us to be reaching out to our friends and family who do not know the Lord and won’t come to a church to find Him. Jesus told us to “go” into all the world – not just “come” to church. What better way to witness to those who are unchurched in our city than to invite them to see us living out the word of God in our love toward them and each other.
If you would enjoy hosting one of these parties, please contact the church office as soon as possible to help us coordinate this event. And we all need to be praying about who we can invite to come with us and celebrate the blessings of 2008 and the hope of 2009.
