River of Life Statement of Faith

  1. We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God.
    2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:20, 21

  2. We believe there is only one true and living God. We believe in the existence of the Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
    Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19

  3. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. He ascended to Heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.

  4. We believe that all have sinned, but we are justified (declared righteous under the blood of Jesus) when we repent of our sins and believe in Jesus Christ.

  5. We believe in the necessity of sanctification (living a life set apart for divine purposes) after being justified by faith, and that sanctification is both positional and progressive, resulting in a lifestyle of holiness separated from the pattern of the world.

  6. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with speaking in other tongues, as the Spirit gives the utterance, to be the initial evidence of this experience. We believe in the operation of the nine Gifts of the Spirit and encourage our people to live so that these gifts may be manifest in their lives.

  7. We believe in water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit for all who repent.

  8. We believe divine healing is provided for all through the redemptive work of Christ. However, we support and do not condemn medical science.

  9. We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ; first to catch away the righteous dead and the living saints to Him in the air, second to reign on earth a thousand years.

  10. We believe in the bodily resurrection, and those who died outside of Christ will be punished in eternal Hell, but those who die “in” Christ shall live with Him forever in Heaven.

  11. We believe in the sacredness of marriage between one man & one woman and family commitment.
